A couple of things I've noticed while playing the comp.

1. I can set monster traps, but if I try to alter the trap with + I
just get the message 'You see nothing here to open'. Is this just
because my character level (18) is too low?

2. Is it the floor_query_flag being set to yes that gives me the prompt
'Try a ...' whenever I go to use something from the floor? If so, it
doesn't seem very useful. Seems to me it might be better to have an
option to prompt for using something untried.

Love the new colours. And staves of Mass Identify - nice surprise when
testing unIDed staves because of full inventory :)

Nick.

Excellent, thanks. I was going from raceclas.txt in the help, and
using no initiative at all :)

Yes, I've done exactly the same.

Thanks for the help.

Hi Nick,

I'm able to alter a trap with the O key (the same you use to set it).
I've never tried any other key for it. At CLvl 18, you should be able to
set basic, sturdy, slowing and confusion traps - maybe even more (I'm
only at CLvl 15).

I've no idea. When playing a comp, the first thing I do is open the save
file, change all User Interface, Disturbance, Efficiency, and Display
Options to my personal preferences. I also allow myself to change the
view_perma_grids and view_torch_grids options, but I don't touch the
rest of the Game-Play Options, nor any of the Birth or Cheat Options.

When I've changed all options to my liking, I save the file, quit the
game and make a copy off the savefile that I rename to something like
"Comp30 Master". If (or rather: when) I die, I take a fresh copy of this
file to start a new game.

Oooohhh ... I hope to find one of those soon. <drool>
