Hey everyone!

A quick question from me:

I'm about to build a new PC for myself... and I'm looking to pass my dear old GTX 980 on to a friend of mine... However, after some 5 years of daily service, I think it'd be best to at least redo the thermal paste on the cooler.

Can I use Noctua NT-H1 or NT-H2 for that?

I understand that, but I'm using what I've got laying around after building the new system ;)

Follow-up Question:

Is ArtiClean good for removing the old thermal paste?
I know it works wonders on an IHS, but is it also safe to use on the exposed die of a GPU?

I can't answer that but I don't see why not. Personally, I use ONLY 91% isopropyl alcohol, available practically everywhere including home centers, grocery stores, walmart, pharmacies, etc., for like 1.50 per bottle. I don't understand why anybody would pay for a TIM cleaner specific product when that product is readily available throughout the world and is cheap. So that's what I use and recommend.

Safe for use on pretty much ANY electronics or hardware.
