I am building a new system and due to lack of money I have bought and am going to throw 2 6800XT cards in it in SLI mode...my motherboard supports full x16 support for both slots in SLI so what would these two cards performance be closer to on juts one card? Or can you compare like that...What do you think ...???

Im with Prozac about the 7900GT, it can perform just like the 7800GTX but with lower price. The 6800XT quality will not compare to that of the 7900GT that has 24 pixel pipelines. So even with SLI configuration the 6800XT will not performed well, not with all the newer games that came out. The 16x SLI mobo doesn't makes much of a difference over the 8x SLI, due to the extra bandwith is not taken advantage of the gpu manufacturers, just like the DDR2 over the DDR. So get the 7900GT and you will be glad you did over the 6800XT.

Oh Man , That Setting ( 2x6800XT ) Sucks So Hard ... Don`t Even Think About That ... Even A 7600GT Will Performe Better Than 2 6800XT , It`s A Watse Of Cash ... I Don`t Like It

That's not a reference 6800XT then; the reference 6800XT only has 8 pixel pipelines.

i didnt mean it was a reference, i meant that a lot of people probly bougt the 6800xt knowing it wasnt that great, but could bumb the pipes up and oc it a lot to make it decent and affordable

OK OK...I think I really know what your guys opinion is now...I bought a motherboard and a new 6800XT from Newegg and once I found out the motherboards SLI is not full x16 I am sending it back and I guess I will send the 6800XT back with it, I think now with your guys advice that I will go with one...7900GT XXX or do you have any suggestions abou these cards too...I will eventually add another identical card as soon as I sell my old PC
