I recently got myself a EVGA GTX 770, replacing my old HD 7870. I removed the drivers of my old graphics card and used driver sweeper to ensure no files remained, I then proceeded to install my new graphics and then its' drivers.
Now I've come to a problem where my desktop colour settings won't save on Nvidia control panel, if I launch a game it will revert to the default settings (a dull looking display) instead of a nice vibrant and colourful display. This just ruins the games for me, I've tried multiple games and it happens for each of them, it even reverts to default after restarting my computer.

I did some googling and I constantly found people giving the "wipe your drivers and reinstall" solution, so I gave it a try, uninstalled the drivers and used driver sweep, but to my dismay it made absolutely no difference. I'm still at square one.

Does anyone know of a solution? I just can't find one anywhere.

Solution
In your Nvidia Control Panel, go to the Change Resolution tab under Display, and then find the option "Output dynamic range" and switch it from Limited to Full.

Hope that helps.
I found a possible solution, however I'm not entirely sure I understand what they mean. Someone else had the same problem as me and someone said they had "disable nvidia services" and needed to "turn it back on", does anyone understand this?

Solution found!

Donwload Display Driver Uninstaller at http://www.guru3d.com/files-get/display-driver-uninstaller-download,12.html and run it in safe mode then follow the instructions. At the end, Windows will completely uninstall NVIDIA drivers.

Reboot and reinstall the NVIDIA drivers. I have Asus N550JK-ds71t my steps:

i used a universal video driver deep uninstaller(cesar8489's post) , booted into safemode, uninstalled the driver with it, then booted into windows installed the previous driver version from asus website, then installed geforce experience and updated to the latest driver

I have a GTX650 (not Ti) and have had this problem for 18 months and still not resolved! Card RMA'd and new card the same problem (although must admit that it now works MOST of time with VGA input to any of 3 monitors). Have done a clean install of windows 7 64bit so know this is a "new install" of latest nvidia drivers - still same problem. Card manufacturer suggest clean install again and use latest nvidia drivers. I will say that it behaves most of the time if I use the DVI out to VGA in (monitor) cable. But I would like to use HDMI, but its so annoying / frustrating that this problem persists. If I use 3 monitors then I have one with "nice" colours etc and 2 with washed out graphics! Would changing to a RADEON help I wonder. But then I went for an nvidia to help with video (CUDA) processing.
Someone must know the answer!

cesar8489's post tells exactly how to fix it, good luck. except after the super uninstall, Install an old driver from your manufacturer and update from there, thats what worked for me

Hi coderguy22296. Many thanks for your suggestion. Did exactly as you suggested - twice - and hey presto - no difference! I also have the latest MOBO BIOS. Every time I start the PC I have to nudge the Digital vibrance slider a tiny bit to get my settings back. I have tried ticking the "Use NVIDIA settings" and "Other applications control colour settings" and it makes no difference. Guess its just one of those things I'll have to put up with until my PC is ready to be rebuilt from MOBO up!!

This worked for me. Go to your C: Drive/ program files/Nvidia Corporation/Control Panel Client/ Right Click nvcplui.exe/properties/compatibility/check, Run as Administrator.

Okay everyone, I found two fixes for this:

This one worked for me, it is very easy. I can't remember where I found it now, but it is:

1. Go to the file for Nvidia Control Panel (C: Program Files: NVIDIA Corporation: Control Panel Client)
2. Right click on "nvcplui" and enter properties. Go to compatibility tab.
3. Check "Run this program in compatibility mode for (your OS)"
4. Right Click and run as administrator.

All edits you do should now stick, and I'd recommend putting a shortcut to the "nvcplui" on your desktop so you can access it more easily. Just remember to run as administrator each time.

this one also worked after testing it again:

"Delete a folder named Nvidia corporation in the c:\programdata folder, but this 1 was tricky, since windows said I had no permission to delete them, so I had to do it manualy and add my user account permissions to it, file by file (do to this, see how to claim ownership of your files on google), in the end, I think this folder and files where the cause for everything;

So I can now install everything "Except the Nvidia experience app", but its pretty much useless so wont find the cause for it, maybe a side effect or what ever, all I know is that my mood is now very good, running thins smooth now."

Unfortunately, none of the solutions posted above has worked for me. Whenever my computer goes to sleep or restarts, the default settings are automatically re-applied. My custom settings are saved, so I can relatively easily switch back to them, but its definitely a hassle to open the Nvidia Control Panel shortcut on my desktop and re-apply my custom settings every time I start my computer. Hopefully, someone has an alternative solution that has not yet been posted here.

you need to go to windows color management settings and enable check box for "use my profile settings"

you can go to windows resolution settings ,then advanched, then windows color management .

once that check box is checked , then your color settings in nvidia menu will be applied on reboots.

It should unless you got another program setting the profile on startup. Worked on my windows 8.1 . I did however use the nvidia uni staller tool first on safe mode. Then reinstalled the latest nvidia driver. Then reinstalled intel igpu driver too. Then i did the color settings in nvidia menu and the checkbox "use my device settings "at windows color management . Like in my previous comment.

Unfortunately, this also did not work for me. I did notice that after restarting the computer the check box became unchecked. Just to confirm the check box is labeled "Use my settings for this device" rather than "use my profile settings." I didn't see a check box labeled the latter.

j

yeah .if it does not save the checkbox.
then there is your issue. Another installed by user program might undo it. Or you added profiles below on the page.

remove profiles. Check the box. And close on bottom.

My windows is in dutch . So i cannot translate everything exactly.
i see only 1 checkbox, so it cannot be that hard.

You could try setting the checkbox .and then save the current windows theme. Not sure if that solves anything. Oterwise check your installed software.

I uninstalled "ASUS Splendid Video Enhancement Technology" and "DisplayLink Core Software," and now my settings are being re-applied after restarting. Hopefully, this will work for others. Thanks so much for your help andre345678!

Good work.

Tried every solution on this page and none of them work for me.

No matter what I do, when I turn off the computer and reboot the colour settings haven't stuck. Have to go into the control panel and click "Use NVIDIA settings" again, even though it's already ticked, and the setting reapply.
