Nvidia Drivers won't install

Hello,

I am on a dell XPS 15 L502X model with the nvidia gt 525m graphics card. I bought the computer over a year ago.

I have been trying to install the new nvidia drivers (version 301.43 drivers) and every time I do I get a "Driver Failed to Install" warning.

I am currently running 265.94.

Can anyone help me?

There's no guarantee standard drivers are going to work with any laptop components.

Laptop graphics card implementations can be proprietary and are, in most cases, non-standard. You should get the latest drivers for your laptop from Dell. If the Dell provided drivers won't install, you should contact Dell support.

I can't even find them from dell. And the drivers they do have are over a year old (for hd 3000)

Looks like Dell released their own update to the video driver on 2012/3/12:

http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19

You have to go with the 'Choose from a list->laptops->XPS->XPS 15 (L502X)'. Under Operating System, choose 'Windows 7' drivers and expand the video driver section.

I'm sorry, I don't see any video driver section.

Thanks, I thought that windows 7 section was OS related.

Downloading it now.

I never realized that I would have to get the stupid drivers from dell. And that they are always going to be out of date.
