desktop management system
change Windows desktop enviroment
connect multiple monitors
adjust DVD playback quality
display angles
special options

new system management software
using the nforce 2 MCP to control o/c
adjust system performance
security and firewall
NVmixer for audio
NVRAID
NVIDIA POWER MIZER (battery etc)

All new multimedia software
record TV shows
watch DVDs
burn TV shows to DVD/CD Rs
media player

This will be released by the end of october

My view on this. If they do this right, AIW is very possible to be taken down. It sounds like "control panel" from ATi. And it fuses the Geforce Cards with nforce 2 together and possible make it work flawlessly. Let's hope nVidia do this right or ATi will kill them ><

I have stocks in u guys, dont fail me ><

nForce3 is showing good results already for them as for now. I'm really hoping they won't quit graphics processor business.

I think nVidia is done for top dog... competition is getting thick might be wise to reserve themselves till the new commers kill each other off then come back into the scene.

This is just a completely random guess but, are you Eden's bipolar alternate?

My OS features preemptive multitasking, a fully interactive command line, & support for 640K of RAM!

Is this TRUE!?!?!?!? IF it is, then AW CRAP! This will probably piss off TheGreatGrapeApe if he hasn't already heard about this startling news.

I've just found it in x3dfx forums:
I don't really know if this is true or just a stupid rumor:

<A HREF="http://pub43.ezboard.com/fx3dfxfrm1.showMessage?topicID=15866.topic" target="_new">http://pub43.ezboard.com/fx3dfxfrm1.showMessage?topicID=15866.topic</A>

matrox will be still alive but might stop creating graphics processors in the future.

He's obviously some sort of prank user. Perhaps someone well-respected under a different username. As silly as Cap'n's posting style is, more often than not, the post contains legiimate information or worthwhile facts, inspite of his apparant brevity of posting.

It depends, the nV media enabled cards are not optimized to use the speed of the AGP bus for video transfer. This may change but right now they would be unable to handle HD in. Currently the ATI AIWs can use the full width of the AGP bus, the thing is that there is not a product to take full advantage of that advantage, since there are no HD in versions of the AIW.

It'll be interestingto see what happens with these multimedia cardz. I wouldn't say that the AIW series is in jeopardy as long as the nV gear is based on a poor Graphics VPU/GPU.

I can see it now, at Best Buy, <i>'get your FX5900-MultiMedia edition with the power of an R9000-AIW.</i>
