my place don't sell internal dvd drive. if there is i would have bought it long ago. and for some reason. i can't remove the old dvd drive from my comp. the other side of the case is not opening. even if i unscrew all of the case screw....
Have you checked in the BIOS? It might not be an issue.
If it doesn't let you boot off of a removable drive then perhaps you could borrow an internal one from someone else? If you only need to install windows then it should just take a few hours. You don't even need to install it properly in a bay. Just open the side of the computer and connect the IDE cable and power.
I know there are also IDE to USB converters but you'd have to find a place there that sells them.

you mean there is other way to install windows??
and how do i learn any of the internal dvd drive??
I'm saying you don't need to put it into the case of the computer itself if you borrow one from a friend. Just open your computer, connect the two cables it needs to function, install windows then detach it and give it back.
Once windows is installed your external drive should work fine.
its got two cables, power and either sata or ide. you just pull them out. the only issue will be if its a sata drive and your motherboard is too old to use sata devices. P4 was popular around when the standard changed.
