so basicly im asking if i should get the geforce 250 or a better ati with a symalar price. im running a amd phenom 9750 quad processor with 8gigs of ddr2 ram and my current graphics card is a nvidia geforce 9500GS. i got a 600w psu. i want to be able to run games like MW2 and WoW on max graphic details with good fps. so which card should i get?

Solution
is your flat screen full hd or 720p, but from ati, you'd be looking at a 4850, for about $100 bucks which is about the same as a gts250, the 5750 for 120-135 maybe alittle better performance then the 4850, and the 5770hd for about 140-150 would be the on the about 20 30% better then the 250

i think that its 720p because ive seen it say 720 something somewere but im not 100% on that. it was given to me by my bro b4 he went into the military so i didnt get a manual or anything. but im guessing my 3 top picks are the 250 4850 and 5770?

Search for the mfg and model of the tv. Should be a manual and specs available in pdf from mfg.

according to this test

a HD 4850 can run Modern Warfare 2 Maxed out DX9 4xAA/0xAF @ 1680x1050 at 60FPS

this benchmarks say GTS 250 1GB is faster than HD 4850 in most games

they also say GTS 1GB consumes less power in both IDLE and LOAD

i would recommend you to get either a GTS 250 1GB or HD 4850 1GB if you want the most bang for the buck for your needs

both of these cards look very attractive and have non-reference design which means lower idle and load temperature :)
