not many made for the other card models so i don't expect to see many for the 1080ti.

i will be updating the list on page 1 in the next day or 2 as i finally have time again to do such things. well behind i know but my life got turned upside down last 4-5 months and i am finally getting back to normal day to day. which of course includes time to keep the list of all the cards updated. but you should be able to look over the 1080 models for waterblock cards and expect similar options from the 1080ti ones.

Depends on the water block and what it covers. I've installed a few and it usually means placing thermal pads on few components and thermal paste on the GPU die. Then carefully place it over the PCB and tighten the screws. Every block I had in my hands came with detailed instructions, too.

It is not that difficult. Removal of the old heatsink is usually more of a problem. Sometimes you have to juggle a little bit to disconnect wires or search for hidden screws. Plenty of teardown videos out there if you run into a questionable maneuver. And newer cards have those heat spreaders between the heatsink and memory which usually have to be removed.

I've never really managed 100% to follow the included instructions for most water blocks. There are usually some tiny differences, but the mechanics are pretty straight forward. Use the screws to pull the block into contact with the GPU board's components.

I just looked up the prices for GTX 1080, and there has been a price rise on Amazon. About a month ago the 1080 was average just under £500, and I was getting interested vaguely. Now they are all about £550, which is too much.

The 1080 Ti is looking the better option, but waaayy expensive. (£550 for 1080, and £670 for a Gigabyte 1080 Ti, makes the 1080 ti look the better deal.)

I really want to go 1440p monitor though, in the future. My 980 is going to struggle at that resolution. I either need to upgrade graphics card, or go G-sync to smooth out demanding games that will push my 980.

What's wrong with the models out now? Due to the voltage locks, you're not going to see any past 2200mhz - and that includes that fugly MSI Lightning with 8+8+8pin coming out next month.
4k 144hz monitor? I assume you plan to SLI 1080tis? Because even with that setup, you won't be pushing past 100fps in most games. Volta or Vega MAY be able to push those frames, but only time will tell.

Trying to pick the right waterblocked card and having trouble finding them in stock. Leaning toward the MSI as it matches my motherboard, but I've had trouble finding one. I also need to mod my case to install it, which has been slow as I wait for a local dealer to fabricate a part for me. He's a busy guy. Also, I know 4k 144 won't instantly be practical, but I don't want to buy a new monitor to replace my current 1080p monitor that I'll have to replace soon. I'll get the new monitor this fall when it comes out and then replace the gpu before I replace the monitor. Not a budget conscious choice. :)

I doubt Vega will outperform top tier Pascal. Taking their past doom 'benchmark' I think they aim at the 1080, MAYBE they can stretch to the 1080ti but I highly doubt they'll surpass it. Volta however... that's a unicorn right now ^^

Any other ideas for waterblocked 1080 ti's? I don't want to get into doing my own with a non-factorywaterblocked card, though that seems to be the way the market is going now. I have looked for these two and the only place they are being sold in the US that I have found is newegg and newegg says they are not getting anymore of them even though they've been out such a short time.

I know there is an Auros coming out sometime, but I haven't seen any release dates or prices yet. Assuming it will be a while for that.

Just found a really good article with cards I have never seen. Probably can't buy them, but some more resources if you are still searching like me.

(Scroll below the card for a stupid ling list of cards)

HOF and Kingpin cards are designed for record breaking as I recall. The really crazy guys just solder beefier wires directly to the circuit board.

I've no experience with the Hydro Copper, but I believe it is an EK block. No difference between that product and getting a cheap reference card and buying a block separately from EK. So if you are looking for an acrylic topped one, EK has you covered, even nice nickel plated backplates.

I just pick up EVGA SC reference cards and slap a block on them. I'm a fan of the XSPC Razor, but it is probably a little dark for your board, like the hydro copper. Lights up though.

That's with all the pascal cards though. Regardless of the fancy aftermarket coolers or whether they're 6x8, or 8x8. Supposedly, those crazy 8x8x8pin cards like 1080ti lightning can on LN2, but that's not a common application anyway.
