I need to upgrade my graphics card as you can tell and i was planning on getting a gtx 970 but that is a little bit expensive for me i would prefer a card for less than £150 but i will go to £200 if it is a big difference in graphics.

My system specs are:
Asus M5A97 LE R2.0
AMD FX-4300 @ 4.2GHz
8GB 1866MHz RAM DDR3
500W EVGA PSU

I went to the GTX 650 first and it was pretty cheap and a great card. They have the GTX 650 Ti which can fit the smaller port and is much better than the 220 and its only $151 bucks

A 500w psu will handle anything upto a gtx 660ti, or r9 280, if it's a good psu. The 500B is a decent psu, not great for gaming, but will do for lower end, budget builds. It'll also handle a gtx950/960 as these have equitable power requirements to a 660ti.

Not exactly a big improvement, most games will show low-medium settings. A 650ti, 660, 660ti, 960, r9 370, 280 will blow the doors off a 750ti.

Word of caution about the 750ti, 960. They are Maxwell gpus and may have issues with legacy bios.
