I have an Asus P5N-E sli motherboard I want to know if the gtx 950 is compatible with this motherboard thanks for any help

Solution
i have that combo for my dad pc it a great combo for entry games. if you can try saving up for the 470 gpu. it going to be a lot faster.
Yes, GTX 950 is compatible with backwards compatibility of PCI-E 2.0 and 3.0 . Your motherboard only supports 2.0 PCI-E interface, but 3.0 and 2.0 is backwards compatible, so it will be just fine at all. this motherboard seems old and still using a DDR2 Modules, LGA 775 and 1333 FSB. You better upgrade your overall rig along with GTX 950 cause you can see possibility of bottleneck if you are still using Dual Core or Core 2 Dou processors, Try i3 or i5 as an upgrade choice.

Agree on RX460- will be cheaper and faster. More info should become available later today. Also this new generation of Radeon cards seem to need less CPU power:

Assassins Creed
GTX 970 @ 1418 MHz : CPU = 38%
RX 480 @ 1266 MHz : CPU = 18%

Witcher 3
GTX 970 @ 1418 MHz : CPU = 36%
RX 480 @ 1266 MHz : CPU = 19%

Ty for your help on this matter

Do you have any links to show Benchmark performance between GTX 950 and RX460?

cheers

Also, I'm planning to get a GTX 950 too, is this mobo ok? What is the difference between PCI-E 2.0 and 3.0?
