[citation][nom]hixbot[/nom]You're nuts, the only thing that drives innovation is competition. If Nvidia and Intel teamed up (would never happen), it would hurt the PC in the long run.[/citation]
Well competition does lower prices that true but its not competition when intel has the x86 architecture patented and amd has the 64 extensions patented so they are paying each other to use the others designs and codes. Then there's the interdependence with intel pushing amd's video solution and nvidia making chipsets for amd's boards. Maybe its a way to prop amd up so they can manage to stay in the game and the DoJ doesnt come after nvidia and intel for squeezing out the competition. It just seems like intel and nvidia should work together against a common enemy so to speak instead of this cross platform interdependence bickering and/or suing thats going on. But then again If nvidia made my mobo and my video card for my intel or amd chip Id feel more comfortable about the interoperability of the two (not that Im concerned when its an intel or via chipset either). So that could be bad news for intel's mobo line which is probably why they are trying to prevent nvidia from making mobo's... Eh I can see both sides of the issue but Id rather see more competition in the market (not $300+ motherboards) so I'm gonna have to side with Nvidia on this one.
