Why would someone pay $300 for this when they can get a PS4 or XB1 for $100 more and play better games and get a better experience?

Because games for consoles cost you $60 each 1st. 2nd, you can use GRID, which even if priced $15/mo is only $180 which equals what, 3 xbox1/ps4 games? You can pound through FAR more games for that same price on GRID assuming $15 or less for 1080p streaming (likely under $10 for 720p, maybe even free who knows). Add streaming your entire PC library (if you have PC) to the TV with gamestream (your whole steam library on your tv), and on top pricing on Android games are $2-20 with many great ones in the $2-5 range. For people who haven't played even the ports previously (on pc or consoles I mean) you can get full fledged games for $2. IE Bard's Tale ($2). Baldurs Gate 1+2 enhanced ($10), Icewind Dale Enhanced ($10), Star Wars Kotor ($10), halflife 2, portal, serious sam 3 bfe, doom3 coming soon etc. The most expensive games are from EA/Square with all the Final Fantasy ports etc ($8-15 or so) but again full games for people that have never played these anywhere else previously. Most of the ports sold between 5-20mil units, so there are a TON of players on mobile who've never seen these games.

Current android games are pretty great anyway with a huge list of stuff I'd like to play:
Order & Chaos Online (cheap WOW substitute 2GB game) Dungeon hunter 5, Ravensword, Modern Combat 5, Gangstar Vegas, Asphalt 8 airborne, Nova 3 Freedom/Near Orbit, etc. They are amping up on mobile now. MY list is getting longer every month and this is just a small portion (dungeon hunter 4 etc look great too). None of these are made for K1 yet, so with the 14nm chips coming we'll start to see games aiming more at K1/X1 levels of gpus on everybody with the next crop of games.

because if I can stream Assassin's Creed Unity from my PC to my shield or my shield tablet at 1080p at 60FPS connected to a 55 inch TV is a far better experience than on a PS4 or xbox 1. (and yes I have done this at my house using my shield tablet). Woo and the best part is that I don't have to pay a subscription fee to play online (Grid is a different story though).

of course I could. But that isn't the point. I don't like having people in my office and even if I do having people huddling around a 27 inch 1440p IPS monitor does not make sens. So if I want to play any multiplayer games from pc, I can stream those to my big 55 inch monitor where more than 10 people can sit comfortable and game.

But to answer your question about the games on grid. I have already played:

Fear 3
Dirt 3
Batman Origins
Witcher 2
Darksider II
Red Faction armageddon
Devil May cry 4

Granted are these older games? yes, are we going to see any NEW triple AAA titles on Grid, maybe. But I wouldn't hold my breath. But all of those games look stunning never the less and ran very well on my shield tablet.

With Grid you really do nee a fast reliable connection. I only have a 50Mbps pipe. So when stream from Grid I can only get 720p. . Which is why I said Grid is a different story

50 is enough bandwidth for 1080p so I don't get why your stuck at 720P. Are you streaming netflix in other rooms at the same time or something? Playing alone you should have no problem if ping times to the closest server is good.

With F-connector and satellite dish?

Or only with app?

If they would integrate all functions of a satellite receiver with recording, simultanously recording/watching two, three... stations, Smartcard (Pay-TV), softcam (for your original smart card), this would be an alternative to live TV STBs like the ~$500 Vu+ Solo 4K (Marusys).

And this Solo 4K is only a twin tuner Enigma2 satellite receiver. With static boring GUI etc..

If there where a USB-Twin-Tuner or "Sat-IP".....
There are many people, they do not "gamer", but they would buy this box for watching live tv. And perhaps then they would play also from time to time games. Perhaps games, they had played on their smartphone and tablets. And then, perhaps, they play more.

But a "TV Junkie" will not make compromises.

* Live TV from Satellite with recording of two or more stations at the same time.
* A Softcam, to use a pay TV Card. Softcams are usual on linux STBs like the Enigma2 boxes. And Android is Linux.

Not a "solution" like HDMI-in a MS XBox One 0_o. You need two expensive devices.

People they will pay $500 for a satellite receiver, but not €200 for a "gaming console", would pay with pleasure $200+ for a "gaming console" with full stand alone (also without internet connection, only with satellite) LIVE TV with Pay TV, Reording etc..

Perhaps, "Hackers" could make this possible with a custom ROM with support for external USB satellite receivers (from Sundtek etc., with linux drivers) or the new standard "SatIP" etc..
There are also existing USB smart card reader like "SmarGo", compatible for pay tv cards.
Also with existing linux drivers.

The second big thing would be a compatible VR glass.
Attractive also for people, they are not "gamers".
Both are more potential customers.
