[citation][nom]vertigo_2000[/nom]I already bought a 5870... I'm not about to buy nVidia any time soon.My 8800GTX crapped out and I was forced to pick up a new grafix card... if nVidia had a DX11 card on the market, I may have gone that route, but I bought the 5870 and haven't looked back. I'm really impressed by it.[/citation]

And how many dx11 games have you played with this 5870?

These new cards should rock. Too bad no PC games will take advantage of all that horsepower. The kiddie consoles, especially the crapbox 360 with DX9 has thrown a monkey wrench into killer PC games. The last real PC game that was released was the first Crysis, Since then almost all have been lame ass console port jobs.
Maybe when the next generation of crapbox 360 comes out it will be worth upgrading the video card until then my GTX 285 does just fine in concert with a Q9650 CPU.

[citation][nom]techguy911[/nom]And how many dx11 games have you played with this 5870?[/citation]

Stalker call of pripyat, alient vs predator, Dirt 2 ALL DX 11 games

The fastest Single GPU. Sure, it probably will be. The fastest card, maybe not. It will be interesting to see if a single GTX 480 can consistently beat a 5970. Well, either way nVidia has to appropriately price it. At least they aren't caught off guard like when the RV770 launched. I'm sure AMD will make an opportune price cut on or just before March 26. I wouldn't be surprised to see something like a 5890 around that time as well just to make things more difficult for nVidia.

I highly doubt you will see these available till the end of April. I haven't seen anything about them going to production yet, and nobody has a card to test...which means it isn't ready yet! There is no way they are going to be widely available for a long time.

What they should have said was "you will get to see your first peek out our new cards". This is a paper launch all the way.

[citation][nom]tpi2007[/nom]Hmmm, if any of you guys has been following semiaccurate,[/citation]

Not following a thing that guy says. He hates Nvidia so much it's like listening to a scorned woman talk shit about her ex boyfriend. Not a good place to get your "news".

damn,, i need a new Dx11 video card now,, do i wait for fermi, then wait again for fermi to be affordable and stocked? do i buy a 5970 now and watch the price fall 1 month later?? what to do, what to do?

If you have a spare $700.00 and a 550watt PS you could wait. But the lack of benchmarks and rumors about a paper launch may mean a two or three month wait for a card that sounds to be equivalent to the 5970 but with Physx. Then again ATI may drop the price of the 5970 and bring out a 5980. you could end up waiting forever. Whatever you do make sure you see valid Fermi Benchmarks from a reliable source before you buy, word is samples for testing will be thin on the ground.

I'm not waiting for Fermi to upgrade my system so much as I am waiting for the benchmarks 😀. I think Fermi 2.0 is what most would be looking forward to so Fermi becomes affordable to slap in our systems. Some prices I seen made me crap myself.

about time
this had so much more time to develop than the 5000 series so this better be way better than what ATI has to offer or at least better priced

Pc gaming is dieing as it is so does it really matter? Its just pathetic console ports that we have been reduced to. RTS games are being more accomidating to gamepads like Supreme Commander 2.

Wont be any reason to care about PC gpu's at this rate.

[citation][nom]vertigo_2000[/nom]Might be best to wait for benchmarks and pricing before making any rash decisions.[/citation]
lol you possibly cannot end up buying that on her bday because you might end up getting in deep shoot with your wife! Lol

It seems quite possible that it's just a paper release, but isn't that better then the crap one gets from reading semiaccurate saying that it isn't coming out at all?

[citation][nom]vaughn2k[/nom]So with Fermi release, does it matter now?[/citation]

What matters now is benchmarks. Games will come later.
Its like a fast car on the road during rush hour, gotta wait for the crap to clear before you can really open up.

Too little, too late.
Should have been in the shops last Christmas so they have missed all the momentum of holiday buyers.
Unless people have serious cash lying around they will wait till next Christmas and by then ATI will have the HD6000.
The rule is whoever has the best product around when you are ready to buy gets the sale and too many people leave it to the holidays to spend big on upgrades.

well, fellas at guru3d.com have got there hands on the benchmarks, but their keeping it under wraps.. they did provide something though GT 470 runs @ a measly 650Mhz..
