[citation][nom]mlopinto2k1[/nom]You know, ATI might have a faster card at the moment but that sure as hell doesn't mean they are SLAUGHTERING NVIDIA. Where does this crap come from? Anyway, cartoon is pretty witty. Also, I am officially NOT a fan boy of any kind. Well, maybe Photoshop but that's a different ballpark.[/citation]
NVIDIA has started reporting losses (at least last quarter) and has lost a lot of market share to ATI. I'd call that slaughtering.

[citation][nom]IzzyCraft[/nom]lol nothing about ati in this and ofc this becomes an ATI fanboy vs Nvidia fanboy war. lol you can't trash something that isn't out ie fermi as thats like trashing hover boots which don't exist you can't be fair if you never even seen the product. Intel failure to get larabee out on time releases pressure on nvidia to rushing the fermi out as there will be no gpgpu competition in a sense on htp. So what if 5870 whips all nvidia products ati is the one loosing out here when the production cycle still only yeilds 50% over at tsmc.[/citation]

They were at 80%+ before tsmc just happened to have a calibration error that somehow went unnoticed for 2 months. Even at 50% it beats the pants off the 2% yield Nvidia got back from its A2 fermi silicon. Ati didn't showcase a fake card recently either. Nice wood screws Ace....

The irony of all this is, who has the greatest share of the GPU market? Intel! One thing I have often seen in life, it is not those who have the best products that succeed. In my own setup, I have 4 computers, one with a Nvidia Gt9600 (I realize this is only basic, but it plays most games well), the other 3 with Intel. I only need one reasonable graphics card, the rest of my work computers only need to run Linux and Windows and Intel is fine for this and cheap as well.

nvidia has been king of the hill for 3 years now, just because ati has a better card for a few months , hardly makes them them king! nvidia is just letting them have their 15 minutes of fame

[citation][nom]zingam[/nom]Haha... that cartoon it reminds me kind of NVIDIA sitting on Santa's knees and wishing GPU too (Fermi). No that's no Intel that's NIVIDA.This time ATI got them all by the balls![/citation]
lol. True that.

[citation][nom]ptroen[/nom]Amd is KING right now. I previously had a 8800 and then upgrade to the HD5870. Despite the 8800 having dx11 support, the HD5870 just SLAUGHTERS the 8800. It's not even remotly close. Amd is a king. But most importantly Amd got their drivers figured out which in the past was so annoying. See nvidia can make as much PR propaganda as they wish but when it comes to actually making a card they have some catching up todo[/citation]

WOW. research fail. I am sorry you you kinda deserve the moniker of King of the Idiots.

I'm sorry you did get this one right.

The reverse happened with ATi when they released the HD2000 series. AMD/ATi was amazing competitive during the X1000 series, but when it came time to compete with Nvidia's quick launch of the GeForce 8, ATi's product was significantly behind.

Right now as I see it, ATi has some amazing products on the market, and Nvidia has yet to unveil its next flagship. I think it's be bit naive to automatically assume Nvidia has the better product, because as history shows, just because you release something later doesn't mean its going to be better.

i know. i just like to get the ati people crazy, lol. they both make good products. if one of them put something out that was leagues ahead of the other the lack of a price war would kill us! i have no problem manning up and saying ati has a good product, i just prefer nvidia.it will go back and forth till the end of time

I'll be hanging on the my Zotac Factory overclocked GTX275 it's fast enough for now, But yeah it's to bad Intel couldn't pull one out of the hat this time around and put the screws to Nvidia, I was getting sick of Nvidia Bumping the clocks on old g80 architecture through die shrink renaming it 9800GTX, 9800GTX +, GTS250, oh wait 9800GT forgot one... trying to get people to think it was new gen GPU

The nametag should read Nvidia and the caption should say "Fermi". Silly cartoons arent going to help them release a GPU in time to compete with the killer Radeon 5k's.

The first thing i thought of when I saw 'A GPU' I thought..... Well isn't that what Nvidia should be asking for? where are their new top-of-the-line GPUs? Wheres the DX11?

Nvidia is getting slaughtered, they need to release competitive cards (price & performance) soon. Before ATI's cards get even more expensive.

fatkid ,,it dont matter who makes a faster card.. they are overkill anyways.. i have 2 gtx 260,s in sli and there is no game i cant max out. i like ati cards too,, just like nvida better thats all

I don't see AMD getting on top of Intel anymore, they won't let it happen again. But we'll never know. If bulldozer starts kicking asses we didn't even know existed then AMD might take a serious lead on Intel, because Intel won't play foul anymore, bribing market share when they have the lesser product. I'd love to see it happen though! 😀 It is already great to see that AMD is already dominating the GPU market since the 4000 series. I think that changed ATI around and people are starting to see that AMD really is the smarter choice for GPU atm.

Isn't Ati RED like Santa? They have all the Christmas gifts this season as they have not one, not two, but at least 5 new GPUs that can be sold for Xmas and make pc users happy around the world. Heck Im even thinking of changing and getting a 5850 or 5870... still trying hard not to temp myself though... that DX11 and GPU power sounds mighty fine right now... too bad the green team isnt here to be merry this holiday..... both Intel and Nvidia should be sitting on Santas LAp.... until we see a huge discount and price drop to counter Ati, Nvidia should not joke too much as they are getting their butts kicked in the GPU market as of October and going..... 5850....yumm!

[citation][nom]2shea[/nom]Very nice... made me smile for a bit Too bad intel is shooting down the larrabee project, I had good hopes for it.[/citation]

No shot down, delayed so I have heard till gen 2 or 3. Who knows.

And its funny to see a company who is currently behind ATI in performance and technology wise trash talk.

Oh the irony of G300....

As much as many people may hate ATI/AMD, if it were not for the RV770, the GT200 would still be 65nm and cost 50-75% more than they do now. Competition is good for pacing the industry and most beneficial to the consumer.

Also, i think AMD screwed up by not leaving enough headroom potential in their first gen DX11 cards. The 57XX should have been faster than the 48XX and should have been called 5670 and 5650 instead. Also, the AMD cards do not scale as well as Nvidia in crossfire so they should have made the 5870 faster and more expensive if they were only going to ship so few at launch.

well! i still remember the "fake" fermi sample! i guess nVidia is a little bit overconfident, at least for the time being both intel and nVidia should be in this cartoon asking for GPUs!
