Question NVIDIA with Ryzen

So I stumbled upon a confusion regarding the compatibility of a new build's graphics card. I am using Ryzen 5 3500 for that build and hoping to achieve 90+ fps @1080p. So I was waiting for the 5500xt for quite a time. Now realizing 5500 xt being the game not worth the candle I'm inclined towards Gigabyte gtx 1660 super gaming oc 6g. But the thing is I've got a freesync monitor and really confused if I should choose between the NVIDIA or freesync. I will not choose 500 series and 5500xt ain't no match. Can you guys help me out?

Make/model of the monitor?

Some Freesync monitors are compatible with Nvidia GPUs.

The model is LG 24MK600M.

NVidia now does free sync with the 20?? cards, I don't know about the 1660, it's just a matter of setting it up.
