Question Nvme hard drive failure

Hello,

I've been struggling lately with one of my hard drives, it's an Nvme SSD I bought approximatively 2 years ago... and wonder if anyone could help shed some light on this :

It worked fine until recently I started finding corrupted files and getting I/O errors especially when the hard drive capacity is nearing full, (1TB capacity) today I had a persistent I/O error so I tried restarting the computer, which always solved the issue until now, the hard drive no longer appear in the file explorer.

On the disk management the disk appear as "unknown" with 2 GB not initialized, initializing it doesn't work (tried several times).

- I tried removing it from the M2 slot and plugging it back 3 times = nothing

- Tried cleaning it with diskpart commands, the cleaning works but I'm unable to force activate it or assign letter or convert to GPT.

- Tried checking the storage spaces under control panel/ manage storage spaces = no pool or storage space is created there.

- Couldn't run chkdsk because there is no volume created on that disk, I don't know if it's possible to run it on a disk with no label or if that would even help...

- What actually puzzle me is when I check the drive on the device manager, it appears now with a different name "MN-5236" when i check its properties, device status shows "this device is working properly" and no sign of errors.

- Checked the drivers, they're all up to date.

- on CrystalDiskInfo the hard drive still shows with 2.1 GB, good 100%, no temperature.

I'm wondering if there is anything else I haven't done yet that can help either investigate or solve this or should I just accept it's gone and get a new one...?

Let me know if any information is needed, I would reply as soon as i can.

Any help would be much appreciated.

In advance thank you.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Make and model of your mysterious NVMe drive that's approximately 2 years old? It's possible that the controller on the drive has conked out or that the drive has degraded to the pint where it's beyond it's useful life.

When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

Is it still under warranty?
Do you have a known good backup?
Thanks for the reply :)

Make: (sorry but i don't understand)

I highly doubt if it's still under warranty, I had purchased it on 11/11/2022, i can't find the info on the website so I might contact the seller to know more about it.
I don't have a back up but I'm not worried at all about the files in there, I already have the items i care about stored on an external hard drive.
I'm just interested in knowing if the disk can still be saved somehow (maybe i have missed a detail or something) because i don't know how to confirm if an ssd drive is dead or not...

Much appreciated.
