The RGB wire on the X63 is 4 pin male (and I think meant to plug directly into NZXT's controller) and the extension that CM gives you when you get the H500M case with the integrated RGB controller is 3 pin, also male. Having just built it and not even installed Windows yet, is there some way of connecting the two? Or should I just swap the controllers?

Solution
Those plugs are different becasue they are for different lighting system designs, and yiu can NOT mis them together. The 3-pin lighting system in the case fans can be connected to a mobo 3-pin male ARGB lighting header IF your mobo has one, OR just use the small manaual control box supplied. The 4-pin connector from the Kraken X63 system's rad fans plugs into an output on the multi-header cable from the PUMP unit of that set. Those fans' lights are NOT normally connected to a mobo header, and they do NOT fir into any 3-pin lighting components of the case.
