[citation][nom]groundrat[/nom]I haven’t been in a TS brief since 10, but back then we had proposals… This was one that the brass was pushing.Interesting that Bush wouldn’t go for any of this, but Barack has no problem with it.Can’t list what’s coming, I still have a clearance. But there will be no anonymity on the net if this continues.I can see a time coming when Anonymous isn’t and they get real world consequences of their actions.[/citation]

Of course it's the brass, and the military corporations that run the US. It's these military corps that have the superpac funds that get either party elected and they basically are the same. No third political party has a chance as they can't compete. Democracy in the US is a scam.

If the American people had any smarts, they would march on Washington and demand an end to this method of electing officials and running governments. In order to get elected, they have to sell their soul to the proverbial devil, and the devil wants his due. Don't cut military spending, raise taxes to fuel the "war effort". It's a freakin joke.

Meanwhile, every American could have universal healthcare for about half the price of the military budget, without having to pay a single dime more in taxes. It will be a lot of fun next year in 2014 when companies stop paying for their employee's healthcare. Sorry, but I'm much more in danger of having a heart attack, etc... then getting attacked by the Chinese, or whatever "scary danger" that warrents 700B in military spending.

[citation][nom]Warsaw[/nom]Wow.....and I thought you weren't a person who flip-flop's on his ideals Obama. You have lost my interest.[/citation]You haven't been paying attention, I am afraid. Barack Obama the Candidate/Campaigner is actually quite a bit different than Barack Obama the President. You could put up his speeches as a Senator and Candidate against speeches made as President, and it would look like two different politicians having a debate.[citation][nom]abbadon_34[/nom]If only people were required to have some minimal level of intellengence to vote[/citation]Personally I feel that if you pay absolutely zero federal taxes, you should not be allowed to vote in federal elections. When none of the money being spent is yours, you have zero interest in it being spent wisely (as long as you get a cut). If your money is involved, you have a vested interest in voting for candidates that don't want to blow all your money and then call for more taxes.

Either that, or you have to serve in order to become a citizen (Starship Troopers comes to mind). Neither of these things will happen, however.

[citation][nom]sykozis[/nom]You missed a major point. Bush wanted the ability to wiretap without a warranty....period. Bush didn't want any restrictions on wiretapping at all. Bush wanted to force carriers to record every conversation happening across the country. THAT is why people (including Verizon, Bell South and Comcast) were screaming invasion of privacy.[/citation]

what the hell do you think this is "warrentless wiretapping, do you not read."

I mean how much more clearer do you want it? LOL

It wouldn't even be a third party, it would be true second party.

Both Dems and Reps are the same corporatist, just under different names. Though to be fair there are a few in each party that actually do try to help the American populace.

Everyone who can, as in not little kids or elderly, pays some from of federal taxes, stop watching Fox News.

And really using Starship troopers? You do realize that is in many places it is a fascist society, right?

[citation][nom]soldier2013[/nom]I certainly didnt vote for this for 4 more. Not my President. Those that did get what you deserve coming right up handed to you on a plate.[/citation]

I love to see these morons bash Obama for this. They forget who made it happen, in the first place?! Pretty selective memories, especially since the article tells the whole story. Can't fix stupid..

This comments section encompasses all that I find hilarious about Americans!

Obama has been a disaster far greater then Bush in every way possible. It takes a moron to do what Bush did for the economy; but what does it say about the guy who acknowledges it takes a moron and does the exact same thing at a far higher degree? When it comes for the economy, foriegn policy, entitlements, and personal freedom he has mimiced a bigger caracture of Bush. However, history will go down in remembering Obama fondly just because of his popularity. That is unless you pulls a Lenin or Hitler.

It always amazes me that in every western country people always focus on the head of the ruling political party. Whether it be saying that they did or did not vote for such and such a person or blaming the person for all of their country's problems, people completely ignore that the leader is more or less a face for the faceless. Yes, the President has more power than many political leaders (Prime Ministers typically have little or no real power), but he/she does not run a one person ship. Everything gets discussed behind closed doors long before anyone hears about it.

The leader is just there to take the flack so that when they are finally gone the party can continue to operate as it always did, while the people are happy to believe that they've been rid of the real problem. Because surely the next person to take the top dog paycheck will be better... right?

Wow everyone here knows nothing about anything

The President can not Veto a law that has a 2/3 majority or greater

And let me remind you that those against this rule very mostly democrat, those for it were mostly republican

One more Time

The president can not Veto a bill that has 2/3 majority or greater behind it.

Yet, here you are on an American website (the web, invented by Americans). You must either be a troll, or secretely love America and are jealous...

[citation][nom]techguy911[/nom]Does not matter every US citizen is already wiretapped every conversation on your phone is being monitored 24/7 for specific key words you set off the recorders and then you get investigated ,i'm glad i live in Canada.[/citation]

You think this is limited to the United States? LOL!

republicans here are extremists, and democrats who have a chance at winning are republicans.
it doesn't help that obama caves to republicans at every corner either.

[citation][nom]thecolorblue[/nom]here the talk is queued right to the point about the surveillance in Canada. http://youtu.be/upCVU_Ojx9A?t=35m45s[/citation]

Yes but in Canada they still need a warrant, where in US they don't.

Governments do whatever they want. They have money, power, and don't answer to anyone. Not really. I mean, what are you going to do? Sue the government in their own court? Judges like their jobs, they're not about to rule against the supreme ruler.

2x as many troops in the east compared to Bush and 3x as many drone strikes compared to Bush. Signed the NDAA that was co-authored by Mcstain, and voted for TARP (euphemism for bailout). Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss.

[citation][nom]MaxTesla[/nom]The President can not Veto a law that has a 2/3 majority[/citation]
Yes, he can. It is very likely that once it was voted on again, it would pass with the 2/3 majority needed to overcome a veto, but there is nothing in an original vote to stop a President from exercising his veto power.
