OC and 64-bit OS

Hi, I've finally got my hands to a 64 bit vista version and was planning to install it soon, but I'd like to know if running in a 64 bit enviroment will affect the overclocking capacities of the CPU or RAM.

Should I return everything to stock, install the new OS and re-overclock? Or will I be safe just formatting and installing as usual?

I did some searching through the forums and couldn't find the answer.

As long as the overclock is stable, it shouldn't affect anything.

there shouldn't be any difference. I'm OCing on a 64 environment as well.

Actually I saw on a site awhile ago. I think they were overclocking an AMD 9950BE and it got up to 3.4Ghz on 32Bit Vista and only 3.2Ghz on 64bit Vista. I have different results myself. My cpu is @ 3.7Ghz right now and its stable. 64 bit Vista doesn't seem to affect anything for me.

You should play safe I think.

For the CPU, 64 bit commands and 32 bit commands are different. In 32bit mode you leave some components unused.

so therefore should be more performance! hence 64 bit modern cpus vs old 32 bit cpus..
