OC: Wanev

Going thru the OC again as a sorceror, I've run into a stopper:
In Wanev's tower, I defeated Wanev, but he won't give me the key to take
the door behind him to get to Gulgash. I've been thru all the dialog
options except the ones that end with things like 'time to die'. Do I
need to threaten to kill him in order to get the key? How do I get him
to do this?

Also, I can't get the three bandits (supposedly near the standing stones
outside of Charwood forest) to attack me so I can get the note to take
back to Aribeth.
Where are they specifically, and/or how do I get them to attack me?

IIRC, you have to beat Wanev down and get him to surrender before he'll
give you the key.

When everything runs well, he should surrender when his HP goes below 30. If
this fails, you can kill him and take the key from his corpse, but you will
miss the reward from him.

IIRC, to trigger the qust you need to meet a NPC who asks you to free a
kidnapped guy named Neva.

And those 3 people won't appear if the quest is not triggered... perhaps the
quest is started but you haven't agreed to free Neva?
