Question occasional lag. wired connection gigabyte service

i hope this question isnt too basic for you all.

i have a verzion 1gb service - wired. 900+ @ookla, 900+@fast.com

on occasion my w11 lags for no reason that i can see. like i'll click and it feels like the browser is stuck. i click a few more times, then 20-30sec later all the clicks i made pop up all at once.

it happens occasionally and enuf to be bothersome. when it happens i can't even exit the browser. it's like the browser is frozen.

i can't duplicate it but it feels like when i do some clicking, like maybe clicking "too fast" before a page is fully loaded(EVEN IN MY YAHOO MAIL BTW) is when it happens.

i'm thinking it might be chrome, since everything seems ok in brave

I suspect you are correct. You want to run adblockers and even script blockers if you can tolerate them.

2 common things to change that fix two actual network issues are. Disable IPv6 in the nic. Although they have claimed it is the future of almost 25 years it just causes issues for most people. The other is manually set your DNS to 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1. You might as well use encryption while you are setting it up. Also verify that you are not overriding the system DNS in the browser.
The default is to use the router as a dns cache proxy to the ISP dns. Both can cause strange issues.

The best test to detect a actual network issue is to open a cmd window and leave a constant ping run to 8.8.8.8
