As for games I can't play, well D3 was elegantly coded and looks as good to me on 800x600 as 1280x1024, and even High over medium offers only slight differences (If prefer higher res for Mouse/Rollerball control). I don't ecpect other games to be as forgiving and 800x600 on my 19" at home just won't cut it unless others have learned from Carmck (a little soon to think anyone else will follow his lead).

I feel no rush but I don't doubt that it would be nicer in even games like HL2 to nearly never feel a slowdown hiccup. Should I decide to try another counter-stike foray (kill all cheaters first!) then I will likely need better than now.
And hey if I can get new gear that p'zones you, phial, GW, Eden (once he decides on an upgrade), WS, CoolS (already doing that now :evil:

), well that would just be an added benifit. :evil:

Especially since I almost spend as much gaming-rig 'up time' benchmarking as gaming. :lol:

Alienware have chosen BFGs as their grpahic card OEM provider. Expect OCed cards in there already. So much for ATI trying to grab a contract from Alienware.

Is that like Dell going with ATI/nV/ATI/nV/ATI for their rigs too?

Alienware flops back and forth depending on what they think they can move. Right now it may be BFG, but if the X876.54ZE offers more than something else, or heck even if XGI pulls one out of theirorifice, then Alien will go with them or lose a huge number of their potential customers.

ALX is still formative so any deal with BFG likely doesn't extend that far into it's lifespan.

Either way 4xWhatever OC'd will be fun be it a GF6969 or an X888RS or an XGI(^3n!+1/pi+siny^2).

So far none of the ALXs are dual card solutions, so there's nothing yet, and probably the day after the NDAs clear you'll be able to order AlienW rigs with either the R480/NV48, and likely they will be the solutions found in the Dual card rigs more often than not (hey if you're paying ~$6,000 why go slow?).

1 diff is between dell /Ati kinda parnerships - BFG isnt an OEM manufaturer. Being targeting at enthusiats only, it was basically all retail. Infact they arent even as big as others - company size/workforce. So its a big step for BFG. and then Alienware have to worry less abt OCing the system on thier own, when BFG is taking full responsibility for OCed products they send. Note that Alienware - just like Falcon/velocity OC their comps.

Well except for the fact that no one has actually seen that score, it's just what nV says they got which is different than what they original said. Once they publish a score then it would be different. However the original thread precept still stands that on that date it was better than nV's original claims. But I guess when you don't publish results the goal posts are a little 'flexible'.

This is so unrealistic its ludicrous, the guy used a Cascade Compressor system, which needless to say no one has, so any benchmarking done with that setup is bullshit because no one can duplicate it without spending a retarded amount of money for the cooling setup which no one is going to do, so NEXT...
