So I've heard that the general consensus with FX-series CPUs is that you can OC to around 4ghz with stock cooler. I however, can't go above 3.8 for anything over 30 seconds without BSOD. Temps hit upper 60s with 3.8ghz/3.125v on the CPU under max load. This is still somehow enough to bottleneck my 1060 6GB, and I would like to push it to 4.0 at a minimum. I'm upgrading to a new Ryzen 3300 when it releases, but until then I would like to see how good my performance will get. I have just gone ahead and pushed my NB clock to 2.4ghz, and my RAM speed to 1866 (specced at 1600). I've yet to truly test for results on these new OCs, and am hopeful for higher performance now.
That being said, as I pointed out in the first line, I can't seem to get my 8320 to that sweet 4ghz mark, no matter what I do. If I try even setting it that high on 1% idle usage, BSOD.
Any ideas?
