Current VR has nothing to do with turbo graphics. It's not even close to the same thing. VR is very good at motion tracking. It's a whole new level of experience. If you haven't tried the rift, you are really missing out. VR is coming, it will probably replace your TV at some point.

They added the X1 controllers because the Touch controllers were very delayed and wouldn't match up with retail release. They did not want to ship without any controllers at all so they made a deal with Xbox as their controllers were already well supported by Windows.

That's not true at all.
The partnership with Xbox was announced last year in June, at the same time Oculus showed the first images of the final rift. It was always going to come with the Xbox One controller.
Even with the dev kits, an xbox controller was the target input device. A keyboard and mouse don't work well in VR experiences, so from a very early point in VR development, xbox controllers were the ideal choice.

Touch controllers were first revealed less than a year ago, and Oculud never intended to release Touch with the Rift. The company always said those controllers would come later, and more importantly, they would be optional. Touch was delayed, but not by alot, and the controllers are useless in most VR games.

Most games will use the Xbox contoller, at least for the first year or so. Touch controllers are impressive, but they are only meant for certain kinds of experiences.

My bad, I must have been thinking of something else entirely in retrospect. Thanks for the correction!
