RIP
That'll only get him (the driver) only 24-48 months in prison for that particular offense, which is wrong. He shouldn't be able to live on, as criminals never change their ways.

Unfair unfair world. The good people suffer for no fault of their own while the bad thrive happy. I hate reading such news.
RIP Andrew Reisse, thank you for your contributions.

Hope something good comes out of this absolute tragedy and the yanks learn from other countries for once and stop these stupidly dangerous high speed chases.

Very sad news indeed.
Could you revise your headline to be 'Oculus VR Co-founder Andrew Reisse Killed BY Police Chase'.
He was not being chased merely in the wrong place at the wrong time. Your headline makes it look like he was doing something wrong.

Hopefully this will help with legislation to end police pursuit in high-speed chases. The danger to the public is outrageous and frequently ends like this. If the suspect didn't bomb the Boston Marathon, then it's not worth killing people to catch him.

Please americans make a petition or something, those guys deserve death penalty, if the state won't allow that, at least life sentence! if it was a politician or a damn socialite those guys will be in serious trouble not some damn 12 months! he was someones son, someones friend, and even a important piece of the video game industry, justice must be done!

With the advent of aerial support of currently militarized police force, there is no justification for high speed road chases anymore.
BTW, NO criminal act is worth killing other innocent people to make it right.

but it's ok to wildly chase cars through public streets because there "might be" a super dangerous killer on board. We will assume a murderer criminal and put the public at risk.

Really sucks
They need to stop doing high speed chases, if a criminal flees, then use alternative methods to track them, then get a sniper ready and send a few 50 cal rounds through the engine block

Please, the headline is misleading. It gives the impression that he was intoxicated and was killed while trying to evade law-enforcement.

Yeah because shooting 50 cal round in the city is great idea. That round punches through walls and will destroy any person it hits.

First off my condolences to Andrew and his family and friends.

But with all the ignorant BS I've ever seen, lets just all blame law enforcement cause its all there fault. The simple solution is to stop high speed chases and use alternate methods (please enlighten us razor512 since your well educated on police tactics) . Lets pass legislation to put an army of drones in the air, multitudes of cameras around the cities and instate a squad of helicopters to chase criminals trying to flee from police all while keeping taxes from sky rocketing. Lets watch more movies to learn more alternate methods of keeping peace and order. Like getting a sniper to shoot a car weaving through LA streets at an excess of 60 mph aiming at the engine block. Let's learn from other countries where they don't chase criminals, letting them get away, only to maybe kill someone else later.

Unfortunately the real world doesn't work that way. The police do not have the governments' budget at their disposal and they're more trained at high speed chases than an indy car driver. Also, most cities only have 1 helicopter and sometimes have to employ other units from neighboring areas. Give them a break, it's not like crimes take place one at a time.

It was the criminals that killed the young man, not the police so why aren't you all blaming them. Oh that's right! Its because the police decided to chase people that were breaking the law. Evading police is still a crime right? It's not the would be criminals fault for trying to run from the police, carelessly ran red lights, then probably aimed for the guy on purpose.

Yes I'm bothered about the news also but don't let your ignorants fool you.

I have to agree with PJE, this makes it sound like he was doing something wrong. Just a bunch of bastard gang members running down a genius. That's just sad news though.
