Odd issues after upgrading to a 1070

So I upgraded from a Asus Dual 1060 6gb to a Zotac Amp extreme 1070, the card works well but there is this quirk I noticed.

When I shut down or suspend the PC, once the monitor turns off, my monitors input automatically moves to HDMI2 (from HDMI1) as if I removed the HDMI cable. So when I turn on my PC I have to manually set my input back to HDMI1, not a huge deal but annoying. A fix I found was to disconnect the HDMI cable from the HDMI2 port directly on the back of the monitor. I did not experience any of these issues when I was still using my 1060.

Here's what ive done so far:

  • Test different HDMI cables
Uninstall NVIDIA drivers complete with DDU
Reseat the card from the mobo including the 2 8 pin cables
Reset my monitor settings (lg 25um58-p ultrawide)

Rest of my PC specs

  • i5-6600k (4.4 ghz at 1.35v)
    Corsair H60i
    G. Skill Ripjaws 2400mhz (16gb)
    GTX 1070 Amp extreme edition
    Gigabyte Z-170-d3hm
    Seasonic m12ii 620 bronze 620w
    Fractal define mini C
Thanks!

Solution
That should really be a monitor issue not a graphics card issue. Which is very strange since you said it never happens with your 1060.

Do you have another monitor similar to the one your using? Does it happen to that monitor aswell?
