Epox isnt a great brand. MSI had some manufacturing process issues that caused a good % to fault, usualy out of the box.

I know from what people have said on these forums that ASRock, when working, is great and cheap. However, I offer my opinion because I have seen 100's of the boards and a great % of them fail in very strange ways, and fail more often then any other particular board.

Just an opinion.

Nah, wasn't knocking your opinion man, it's always good to hear other peoples experiences with board brands. :) Personally, I tend to go midrange on my boards, and have always had good luck with Gigabyte and Biostar's boards, and, oddly enough, ECS boards...to date since ECS came to market I have never had an issue with an ECS board and I read tons of people having issues with them....

As long as you avoid Epox, we're ok. Dumbest tech support I've ever met. Wouldn't even RMA the board, had to contest with visa...

The one Epox board I have in my possession (and it's functional) is a 915 based socket 775 board that is occupying a shelf in my garage and will probably never be used again. The feature set killed it for me not the board being bad.

That's funny... I have 4 asrock boards running in computers at my house... I've been "tech-ing" computers since 1979... I've had Asus, EPoX and Gigabyte boards give me more trouble.

Well I was saying that it seems people on these forums have had good luck with ASRock...

but as a shop owner / tech, I deal with 20 computers a day, thats 20 montherboards a day... thats 5000 montherboards a year. Not all are failed obviously, but I do see a HECK of alot of problems, so I can start creating trends. This is where I get my information...

I can understand that... there are people who will try to do things with a budget board that you should not ought to do...

This is a pretty good review of the board... now I just need to figure out how to set the options to maximize it without pushing it too hard.
