I have a computer with a Z270 Killer SLI/ac motherboard from 2017. When I open the boot menu the graphical display is glitchy, I need to mouse over the text to get it to display and there are 2 lines of Chinese symbols displayed. What could cause this? Aside from this this there doesn't seem to be any problem with the board, everything works fine. Just whenever I see it I get paranoid my bios got infected with malware. I flash updated the BIOS to the most recent version and it didn't fix the issue.

Try running the built in Windows troubleshooters. The troubleshooters may find and fix something.

Then try "dism" and "sfc /scannow".

Failing that manually download the GPU drivers directly from the manufacturer's website.

Reinstall and reconfigure. No third party tools or installers.

Make and model monitor? If the monitor has its own drivers then reinstall them as well.

That's picture of BIOS, menu for fast BOOT device choice, nothing to do with windows or GPU drivers.
Likely corrupt BIOS.

I have seen a similar thing on another Asrock board (B250 Pro4) - in Boot Menu.
It happens in Boot Menu only.

It seems to be a problem with BIOS, how it handles displaying boot menu.

I manged to fix the problem using Visual BCD Editor; there was an entry for an old installation of POP! OS in the boot config and I deleted it. The boot menu displays correctly now, maybe something about the name having spaces or non-usual characters caused the display to glitch out I guess.
