I have an HP OfficeJet 3830 and I noticed it was using a lot of ink, and sometimes I buy the "fake" ink. So this last time I bought genuine HP black ink and then I printed 62 pages of somewhat dense text and by the last page, it ran out of ink. These were printed from a PDF file from my Linux workstation.
I think that's crazy. The printer was fairly cheap so I am considering just replacing it. A more efficient one will save money by itself soon I think.
Any other ideas?
UPDATE: Obviously I also know that I can print "draft" but the question is not if "draft" exists. The question is if this is normal printer usage. I don't think so....
