Oh my GOD Someone PLEASE Help!

I AM GOING INSANE!!

My computer crashes, the monitor says "No Signal Detected" but the lights and fans stay ON inside the computer!

I can reproduce the crash every single time I run "Windows Experience Index" to get my WEI Score.
It crashes every time it gets to "Direct3D 10 Texture Load Assessment" or at "Direct3D 10 ALU Assessment"

When my computer crashes, I have to manually go behind my computer, and switch off the PSU to get it to shutdown all the way. The power button does nothing.

So I went to Fry's and bought a new graphics card, but the problem CONTINUED!

I have heard Graphics Card issues, PSU (Power Supply) issues, RAM issues, and even something about S3 suspend to RAM/Resume Video issues. I don't know what to do next!

The things I know for sure:
It isn't the graphics card.
The PC is NOT overheating.

I can play World of Warcraft for HOURS with no issues, but the instant I tried increasing the graphics settings to "ULTRA HIGH" it crashed immediately! The monitor went black, the fans stayed on, and I had to switch off my Power Supply to turn it off fully.

**It never crashes on anything else except for ONE time while watching a YouTube video. However, since I replaced the graphics card - it has never crashed on YouTube videos - only when attempting the Windows Experience Index Score.

This is a brand new custom built machine, all the components are brand new. Which makes this even more confusing.

Humm...Have you made sure that your two sticks of ram are in the right pair of slots?

Also, NVidia cards really eat up the watts on a PSU. Methinks your PSU ain't supplying enough juice for your card.

Go to the Direct x hp and see if it helps load the DX9 drivers instead of directx 10

use a psu calculator(google is your friend) to see your psu is giving u enough power.

And make sure you use the 296.10 driver from Nvidia

Actually that PSU is enough for that setup, GPU wise anyways. We use it in most of our basic builds at my work and I have put even a GTS450 in a system with it and it can run the WEI without an issue. Its when you move beyond that that it needs more.

Still it could be a PSU issue, possibly a bad one, but it being under powered, I doubt. Unless the CPU is using all the PSU at the time but I don't see why it would since the DX assessment is GPU based, not CPU.

As someone mentioned in the other thread you started, you mobo doesn't support processors that require 125watts. Try disabling two cores in BIOS to see if that stops your crashing. Either get another mobo or a different processor that's limited to 95watts

Troubleshoot. Take apart aspect of your PC and disable cards/features one by one until you find the culprit.

This is technology... one size fits all answers, though possible, rarely fit. Just saying.

Could be the PSU, could be your RAM failing during texture loads (swaps) between it and your GPU. Could be many things.

Check MSI website. Your motherboard don't support 125w processor, only 95w.

If cpu power draw is the problem, you can undervolt the processor to bring the power draw down to within the 95 watt envelope. That way you dont have to replace the cpu.
