Pentium 4s suck. Core 2s rock.

I'd rather have an e4300 overclocked than your CPU and motherboard choice, but hey, whatever.

I never argued with the way the poll turned out, I wasn't surprised at all actually, it was more of a humorous experiment to me than to find out your opinions. The last peoples opinions I want are a bunch of forum whores who bash things for no reason. The only time I dumped on people was when they tried (pathetically) to insult me, as if that would somehow make them less of a bunch of pathetic nerds.

This is a typical forum, full of typical assholes.

They make several 550's, and the one im using (for now) is rated by tons of reviews to be a badass PSU, although I will upgrade to an antec later on, it will do fine for now.

If you do not want opnions, don't post. Most people here are tired of threads started by people trying to get a rise out of people. Once the price drop for intel hits next month you might be kicking yourself. I plan to buy when the price drop happens. Ok so you dont OC, its not a crime. I stated that it was not hard and takes only 1 BIOS change. Most people here would save a buck and OC vs paying 200 bucks for a CPU they wont overclock.

Shitty powersupply, and buying an AMD chip this late is a bad idea. The only reason I use an X2 4800+ is because I purchased it when the competing CPU was the Smithfield 840EE. :lol:

Well, your system needs 30a at max usage. FACT

If that is the PSU, then it does fufill your power requirements. How is is in terms of reliability, I cannot say.

I didnt say that you shouldnt get an AMD. I understand that you dont want to OC. Your opinions and loyalties are your own.

I dont understand why people post threads like this when their computers arent even anything amazing. If you were building an actually amazing pc like super modded or $10k+ then this would warrant a thread but this is like...mediocre. Sorry just doesnt make sense to me. Brag about this to people irl and noone will care, what makes you think the tech forums do.

Its all about the amps. In order to run well your sys needs 34 amps or so including headroom.

I dont know how many max amps the Rosewill psu provides, but since it has one 17a and one 18a I would guess at 28a. It might run fine for a while but it is a very poor decision.

With your cpu (not dissing it), the 8800GTX will be SEVERLY bottlenecked. YOu wont Have a difference btwn it and a 320mb GTS.

I still haven't seen any benchmarks to prove this. Will he have a few less FPS in games? Sure, he's got a slower CPU (than an E6600 or any highly overclocked low-end C2D). That doesn't mean it's bottlenecking his video card or reducing its capabilities, though.

From what I remember, the X2 5200 is worse than the e6300 at stock.
The 8800GTX is known to bottleneck any processor. A 8800GTS with a good seasonic s12 550w would be a much better choice.

It's a well-known fact if you blindly trust Tom's articles and get all your information from them. But when you actually read that article, they didn't even test an X2 system! So how do they know that it'll bottleneck the GPU?

Also, the 5200+ is notably faster than an E6300 at stock in most benchmarks (not all, but most).

I agree that it'd be better to have an 8800GTS with a PSU that will actually work with his computer though.

Actually, he is fine. But your thinking that "rock your face off" is simple sarcasm (in any context) and then trying to defend yourself with it by saying it was sarcasm is probably the stupidest thing I have seen in this thread.

2. If you dont overclock then you have no need for the 800mhz ddr2. Someone who knows their stuff can correct me if im wrong but Im sure AM2's benefit from tighter timings not frequency.

And yeah, no one got your "sarcasm" because we've all had experience of retarded 12 year olds desperate for some love because mummy and daddy let them play with their credit card. You know, you're so right. He clearly DOES care, spite what he might claim because he is still replying. If he did not care about anyone's opinion like he claims, then he would NOT have responded past his first post in this thread!

What a jackass. I am neither an AMD or an Intel fan boy. I just went with an E6400 back in Febuary because they're clearly better than AMD's.
 
I've been recommending AMD chips for years before Core 2 came out. Hell, I even preferred Athlon XP Palomino to Pentium 4 Northwood, so I do resent being placed in the "Pentium fanboy" category 😛

You don't want to overclock? Meh. IMHO the top AMD chips atm are basically "factory overclocked" and pushed to within a few MHz of their limit.

Intel ones have massive amounts of headroom.

I don't understand how you can want a fast system, one that will "rock your face off", and then not want to make it as fast as you can.

I run my Core 2 Duo at 3.6GHz. NO AMD chip currently availible will "rock my face off". Most Core 2s are capable of this sort of speed.

Second off, that PSU is going to die on you sometime and it may kill the entire system.

Third off, you should have waited for April 9th to order. AMD has a massive price drop.

You didn't do your research and your computer has great specs but is in great danger of dying.

Have you read any of this guys comments? First the starts off by asking for a flame war. Then he makes comments on how stupid we all are and how our opinions do not matter. Then he keeps the flood gates open and posts even more cow plop. He then finishes by childish name calling. I agree with most here and hope his $55 dollar PSU blows his whole system. His uneducated stubborness deserves it.

One more thing, he did start and almost ask for this flame thread.
 
Yo btw, a GPU wouldn't possibly bottleneck a CPU. If anything it'd un-bottleneck it since it's not using the integrated chip on the motherboard which uses the RAM and CPU.

Look up the 5400, 2 X 512 L2 cache compared to the 5200 1mb cache, I could be wrong (Im kinda new to this) but it would be worth droping .2ghz to get more L2 cache.

You guys get all upset about this shit dont you? Oh and that is the rosewill Im using, I made sure id't work.

Once again Im out, I hope you all catch gonerhia of the soul from a 2 dollar male hooker (you nasty bitches).
 
I think it's safe to say his sarcasm has been totally take the wrong way. Its ridiculously obvious that he was joking on most things, he just wanted some critiques on his build that weren't from a fanboy. I think some people have their tightey-whities on WAY to tight.
