Ohms for a Barton 3000+ 333 fsb?

the barton has millions of circuts...which one do you want the resistance of?

The pink one in the shape of an elephant sitting atop that one that looks like a bear with a boner on the right side of the cpu.....yeah.

It's not about good or bad, it's about which gets you rich and laid faster.

Hrmm don't see that one...

I just want to know if I burnt my cpu out. I have used a multimeter a few times in the past to check the Ohms of other AMD cores but never the Barton so I am not sure what # I should be looking for.

I guess what I am looking to test is if the power pins are shorted due to improper installation

I didn't think it was impossible since AMD tells you to do it that way.

They say thoroughbred cores should have an ohms reading of greater than 5 and the Palomino should have a resistance greater than 10. I am probably not using the terminalogy correctly here =)

1 They test by connecting to the capacitor leads on the back of the palomino chips and in the center on the tbred chips. touching the pins with a test lead would probaly bend them, or make contact with more than one per lead.
2 Make sure that your ohmeter is on the smallest range, not more than 20 ohms, as the k-ohm amd m-ohm ranges may apply too high a voltage.
3 What type of chip are you looking at, tbred or palomino.
