first off sorry if i sounded paniced or fed up in any of the other posts, ... i was... not at any of you though just myself , so sorry and thanks for all your help.
heres what happened:
i found the picture i was looking for on the site crazy pc wich is where i bought the epoxy kit that i mentioned in the other posts, not the overclocking store as i had thought.
anyway on there site you can search for "arctic silver epoxy t-bird unlocking kit" and then enlarge the image with the bridges already connected and youll instantly see what i had previously missed.
you see the conectors that are about a centimeter in length and are aligned perfectly with the L3 bridge witch looks the same, 4 in a row verticaly and perpendicular to the l3.
anyway on the very small like i said a cent. or so there is a very , very ,very small split, im talking teenie.
thats it , you connect the little split so the L1 is a continuous strip.
do all 4 and tada youve done it.

so now that ive done this i can only seem to adjust the # in the bios to a 7 or 7.5.
any lower and it wont boot at all.

right now im at 7.5 x 133/33 and all is stable.

28 deg cel./ 8600+ 3dmarks no distortion or problems that i can see.
still ill probably opt for the lower sett of 896 or 933 with 7 x 133.
still i cannot get anywhere near the 150 fsb that im in search of, the memory garauntees 150 mhz at cas2 or higher than that at cas 3.
i went to a bulletin board off of the mushkin site and found this to be the case with many mushkin users.

my voltage is at 1.85 and vcore @ 3.4 ( sandra says my max vcore is 3.3)
what do ya think? can i get to the 150 mhz?
in theroy i should but something is holding me back.
why wont the system boot at less than 7?
no matter the fsb it just wont boot ( 110 x 6, 133 x 5 or 6 or 6.5 nothing)
what would you do??
seems wierd that it will opt for booting at 999 for example at 7.5 x 133/33 but it wont boot at all at 6 x 133/33 or even 6.5 x 133/33 wich would be a lower over all overclocking.
why doesnt it want the lower numbers?
before i unlocked the multiplier it was locked at 8.
now i can use 7 , 7.5 , or 8. still not right, i need 6 and 6.5 !
what can i check or disable ?
oh well were getting there.
I swear ill stick with this thread now that the panic is gone and were just tweaking again.
thanx again, ps i havent slept in 2 days since i started this, lol

UPDATE!!!
i got the fsb to 145 x 7 and booted and ran most things ok but crashed in 3dmark the high detail adventure game test.
now its at 143 x 7 reading a kooool 1.02 ghz

koool as in 28 degrees celsius on the chip cooler in the case and around 35 degrees in the power supply.
anyway all i need now is to get to 7 to a 6 and im sure i can run the 150 or 155 even, so if you have any ideas how to get the system to boot at the lower miltplier im still trying.

Hi,

It might be worth double checking your L1 bridges. I know that if not done correctly then you cant select all multiplier settings. EG on mine, I can only select whole numbers (6, 7,8 etc..).

If you used the silver, then they are probably OK. Maybe previously connecting the l1 bridges to the L3 bridges previously had affected it in some way.

Tom...

yep i agree and thats the same thing i figured might have happened.
so if i pull the chip again and check the bridge, what am i looking for ?
think i might have not completely covered a connector?
hmm, ill have to think about that.
im running at 143 x 7 and all is well at 1000mhz
i dont know if ill pull it or not, maybe ill wait and try again on the 1200 im geting soon.

It could be that, yes, I'm not entirely sure. I assumed it was due to l1 bridges not being closed. I never experimented with only closing some of them.

Be careful taking that heatsink on & off all the time 😉

*still cursing*

Tom...

lol , i hear ya friend.
i swear to god that the heatsink is the hardest damn part of the procedure!
hurts my fingers, makes me swear, and i always think of your broken die when i do it.
