Old Drivers

I used to have a Nvidia 9800 Gt, but upgraded to a Radeon 6870. I was looking at memory sucking processes in task manager and notice that i have NvXDSync.exe

So do I still need it or can i end it?

Is sounds like you may need Drive Sweeper to make sure that the old NVIDIA Drivers have been removed cleanly from the system.

Looks like you didn't unistall previous driver before installing the ATI driver... a lot of user do that mistake... Do that in control panel -> add/remove application, or use driver sweeper as suggested.
