Old hard drive is damaged but did repair but no USB work

Hi, I have a Dell Dimension and the old Hard Drive crashed and I have now repaired it to open in windows now but the USB ports are not working. It tries to load drivers but I am unable to do anything with the mouse and Keyboard. So I have a new hard drive working now but would like to get old files form old hard drive. Is this going to be a possibility to hook it up as a slave. If so does anyone know what procedure I should follow.

You can try slave, and also see if you've updated your motherboard's drivers. Make sure to install everything meant for your PC's mobo!
