Question Old Mobo, can i use "L-type" DDR3?

Can i use the L-type ram on it? Non-L is hard to find, L-type is aviable at local shop.

There are low voltage products listed on the QVL, so I think your chances good that they will work.

New memory in. Power on, fans come alive, then in about ~sub 10 secs power goes off and it reboots. Fans come alive, but nothing in the screen. No pre-boot screen or anything.

Old memory back in, boots fine.

What is the specific make/ model of the memory you are trying to install?

Reset the bios, but first make note of things you might need to change back if you know what needs to be set.

Old mem back in. Set the voltage to 1.350, new mem in and reset bios. It started.

Lastly. It says i have 32gb, BUT it says 16 is "usable" - what does that mean and how do i get the rest?

Since you can make any combinations you want, you can do your own compatibility testing with no guarantees.
