Old PC Gaming Computer Help?

Hi, I absolutely love old PC games like Darkseed, StarCraft, Resident Evil 2, and classic games from my childhood like Pajama Sam but it's kind of a pain to try to get them to run on my Windows 10 computer or try to use emulators, I'm thinking about buying a Pentium 4, would that be the right kind of computer to run Windows 98/games similar to the ones I listed? I really don't have the time or knowledge to try building a computer, I'd like to just buy an older one. Any response would be appreciated :^)

What do you currently have, your computer specs, have you tried running the games in compatibility mode in windows 10

The issue isn't that I *can't* play any older games, I'd just rather have a separate computer to have my older game collection on without the clutter on my new school/gaming computer. Also maybe for nostalgia's sake I guess? The computer I'm currently looking at (the pentium 4) is one I can get for really cheap from a friend so if it'll do what I want I might as well get it

Either a Fast PIII or an early P4 (no later than an 875 chipset) would be great.
