Are there any freeware downloads that can help me format a floppy disc in the
small format (is it 740Kbytes or there abouts)? I've got a pentium 4 Compaq
Presario running Windows XP Home edition. I'd like to be able to transfer
some downloaded files from my PC to my Amiga1200 using Crossdos, however my
PC doesn't seem to recognise the smaller PCformatted floppy. I keep getting a
message saying the disc is not formatted but my PC is not offering any other
capacity option but 1.414Mbytes

Open a DOS box and try FORMAT a: /F:720.

The /F:720 will tell the format command what size you want the floppy
formatted.

If that doesn't work then open a DOS box (also called Command Prompt in XP)
and type format /? for a list of the possible parameters.
