On-board or Audigy 2?

I'm getting a new computer and I have Inspire speakers but some of my features on the Creative panel are disable such as Bass Level Control. I'm wondering if it's because I only have a SB Live 32 card. Will an on-board sound card such as the MSI K8N-Neo4-F activate these features or do I need an Audigy card to activate those features?

Most onboard sound chips are pretty good. Some even come with creative chips built in. My suggestion is to build the computer and use the onboard sound. If you dont like it then get you a regular sound card.

The features are disabled because your sound card doesn't support them, most likely. If you want to use them, you need a sound card that does support those features. It would have to be a creative card. The creative software only works with creative cards.
