I'm at work and I'm attempting to switch from the current display configuration. Right now, my computer is in one corner and the information is duplicated on the TV at the other end. I've gone into the Display as well as the Intel options, but it's not discovering any other monitors. Is there anything else I can potentially do to discover the TV as a separate monitor? What I want to do is have a slide presentation on the TV with the notes and things on my main display. How do I do this?

Thanks, all!

i just realised you said you were at work...

as you at work it may be you need to ask an admin to do it for you. user accounts are created with limited options as far as installing software and accessing the hardware configs.

chances are the display options have been limited on group policys so even if you ask the system to scan for new hardware it wont.

you can look in the event logs (if you have access) and you will likely see a caution saying user access denied or some such.

use the extend option rather than duplicate. alt+p if you have nvidia
or
from inside the amd control panel display options if you have amd.

as to why the tv isnt showing up. that could be the cable your using. it may not have the required pins... but its odd that its not showing.

I agree with HEXiT..
Or it could be the obvious.. Does the other "monitor" have multiple inputs? If so, grab the remote and change to the right input.
You'll love dual monitors. I could never go back to one now..

I wish I knew what the deal was, but there's nothing in there that indicates I'm even using a second monitor (the TV). It looks like it's plugged in the VGA slot in the TV, and the computer has no indication that there's a second monitor. When I click detect, there's only the one monitor that shows, and when I click Identify, I get the big "1" showing on both the monitor and the TV. Also, no indication exists to "extend" because I don't see the second monitor showing at all, so I'm at a loss as to how to make it available. Lastly, when I look at the Intel-specific graphic card tool, it indicates in there that TV support is disabled, so I don't know if it's an admin thing that prevents it from showing or what. Ugh.

I'll probably have to do that, because nothing else seems to make sense as to why I'm not seeing it. Thank you, everyone!
