hey guys.

Laptop model: HP Omen 15-dh1xxx

I have a weird problem, earlier this year i went away for a month and when i came back, as soon as i turned the laptop on the fan on the right hand side of the laptop instantly sped up to a constant high speed but not full speed. after a day it just randomly fixed itself and all was good. A few months later i go away for a month and again the same thing happened but it fixed itself again. A few months later i go away again for a month and it happens again only this time it hasn't fixed itself.

So every time my laptop stays turned off for an extended period of time the one fan plays up? what could cause this?

I did a fresh reset of windows but the fan is still stuck on high speed. the temps are very low so its not an overheating issue. The fan is missing a couple of blades but its been like that for a couple of years without issue. this only started happening the start of 2023.

I do have a weak battery according to HP, and i get a notification every time i start up telling me i have a weak battery, could it be due to the battery?

When you say that fan is running full speed for a while, etc., do you KNOW its speed, or are you reporting that it is unusually NOISY? A fan that exhibits NOISE in that pattern may simply have worn bearings.
