Question OneDrive sync feature missing

I shared a folder with another MS account of mine, and the shared folder opens up in the Shared section of OneDrive through the browser. When I do it with the directory in File explorer, it doesn't show up. I looked it up, and most of them tell me to sync the folder. So, I opened up the folder, and there is no sync button. Is there a way to make the sync button come back up? I need it since I am working with others on files that can only be opened with desktop grade applications.

Also, on the toolbar that shows up when I open the folder, there is only 7 options - New, Upload, Share, Download, Add to my OneDrive, Copy to, Embed.
No Sync.

Be sure to note and post any pop-up windows, errors, etc. that appear when a synching issue occurs.

The thing is - they do sync to my OneDrive folder, but the shared folders don't show up.
