Well in the U.S. at least, "not locked to any carriers" usually means your choices are AT&T or T-Mobile, leaving out Verizion, which is likely the best option for smartphone users.
Yes, Verizon is "likely the best option for smartphone users"..... because limited data is always good for a smartphone user. T-Mobile, Sprint and Ntelos all offer unlimited data plans with T-Mobile having the best coverage of the 3.

I was really waiting for this phone but the size makes it a no go for me. Even my HTC One X is sometimes too big for me. It doesn't matter how cheap it is, it is simply too huge. I would even call it a phone this is a small tablet.
