Question Only 8gbs of 16gb ram is being used in pc

I have read similar questions to this but none find the solution. When using the computer it only uses 8gbs

This is a new build so Im not sure what to do

Please post full system spec.
Have you tried each RAM module individually?
Are they modules that have come from 2 seperate packs?
Have you reset CMOS?
Are you overclocking at all?
What operating system are you using?

Sure so they come together as 2x8gb set of corsair vengeance with msi b450 a pro motherboard and ryzen 7 2700. Not overclocking at all. When checking in task manager says 8gb is reserved for hardware. I have fully reset already.

Assuming by full reset, you mean you reset CMOS?
