[SOLVED] Only half of memory usable

Hello,
I am having an issue with this computer I recentley got. It has 4gb of DRR3 ram install but in task manager only shows 2gb usable.

If this is a laptop or desktop with integrated graphics it takes 2GB on the 4GB just for that leaving you 2GB usable.

Sorry forgot its is a desktop running windows 10
CPU: i7 860
Motherboard: ASUS P7P55D-E LX
GPU: HD5450
RAM: OCZ PC3-10666
PSU: 400W CoolerMaster
And then a 80gb HDD

I just added 8gb and now it says that there is 3.5gb available and 4.5gb in hardware reserved

Are you running 32 bit Windows 10? It can only access 4GB of memory. You need a 64 bit version of Windows to use more ram.

I am running windows 64 bit but the board was running windows 7 before I have updated the bios but cant get the chipset drivers to update could it be the chipset drivers from windows 7?

For some reason it was the cpu cooler, after I changed it all 4gb was usable thanks for your help everyone

Probably the pressure applied to the CPU was too much making the memory controller not work properly.
