open frame case or not?

Solution
I would pass. Those cases NEVER have good temps because they have no airflow.

Dust will be an issue as well.

It will be HOTTER than the 500r and not nearly as safe for the PC.

Definitely not worth it at all. Get a proper case.

how is this evga 80+ gold one?http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-SuperNOVA-Classified-Crossfire-120-PG-1500-XR/dp/B0098WWUTU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1437504311&sr=8-1&keywords=EVGA+NEX1500
will 1500w be enough or i need 1600w?

No, this is the case where that is an OLD EVGA and not good. You want a G2 or P2 unit.

1500w is plenty because the 3rd and 4th GPU will just be sitting there doing nothing crippled by AWFUL crossfire scaling and terrible drivers. SERIOUSLY the difference between 2 and 4 290x's is BARELY 30%. It is worthless. You will only really be powering 2-2.75 cards at any given time even in the most stressful of games.

you should get a single 980 or 980ti and then go from there as it is WAY WAY WAY more reasonable and not a waste of power/ heat/ money like multiple 290x's are.

maybe in some old games 4 gpu's wont be realy affective but as time goes by ill be able to use the third and forth card more and more.. you can look at these bench marks in the video and see that there is performance differense between 2, 3 and 4 cards in terms of fps and it wont be useless.. even the third card will be almost as affective as the second one and the forth one will add 30-50% the performance of the second one..

and do you have any suggestion about a psu that wont cost 350-400$ like those you suggested so far? or i have to spend around 1/3 of my budget only on a psu?

Nope, to get a quality PSU of that high wattage that will actually power your space heater of a PC and not blow up from the ridiculous 290x power requirements you WILL be spending $300.

This is why you should be getting a proper PC with a single 290x and an 850w PSU. That way you can get another 290x later and that is all you will need.

I PROMISE you will never add more than 2 GPUs. You just won't.

so if ill be fine with only 2 gpu's ill stay with only 2 as long as i can, but whats the problem with having a upgrade capability?

the furyx is only slightly better than 2 r9 290x's and its way more expensive so its not realy worth it..

Nothing is wrong with having the possibility to upgrade, I'm just steeling you that you will never use more than 2 290x's. The pint is that by the time you would add a third, new GPUs will be out that use less power and make less heat and perform better so adding third old power hungry space heater of a 290x would be stupid and pointless when you should get something newer that perform the same as your 3 290x's will. Also, by that point, you CPU will be getting old and it'll be time for a new system completely.

You'll never use 3 290x's. You just wont.

ok so is that a good system in your opinion for 2* gtx 980's ? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/hYkJdC (for some reason i cant add another gtx 980 in pcpartpicker so just treat it as 2)
and if i do eventially decide to go with the 4* r9 290x's, is this a good system for it? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/RhfyNG

I'mma say no on the 4* 290x system as it will never happen, the motherboard really isn't built for it, PSU would blow up and kill you, etc.

the first build need some work but looks good. Change:
RAM to 1600mhz.
Motherboard to a z97 board so you can SLI later on
Drop ALOT of the fans.

why should i drop the fans? they can help me cool the system and oc more, and i need good cooling with sli dont i?

and which mobo whould you recommend the most out of these?
