We have an almari [storage cabinet] attached to the wall. Above that there is a shafty is available (15x3x2.5 feet). I want to convert that entire shaft into an aquarium. I spoke to the local aquarium people they said they cannot.
My mind is asking 'Why Not'? Attaching the picture. Please guide.

given dimensions, the volume would be 3.18cubic meters (not counting walls of aquarium) and assuming it's filled to brim with water...
weight would be over 3 tons. (cubic meter of water is pretty close to 1 ton.)
Said weight would say "I will CRUSH!!" to anything below it without serious support.
Those cabinets are not built to hold up a truck, are they? I think not.

and that is a good reason to not do it.
also.. ease of cleaning/handling would need SPACE above the aquarium to do servicing and cleaning, so it couldn't fill the whole space anyway.
and.. doing that while standing on top of not so sturdy ladder that is relatively high is... workplace hazard.

so multiple reasons to say "nope"

Then there is matter of powering pumps, lights, and being able to access for feeding and cleaning. Next to ceiling, that would be difficult.

Once it crashed to floor, you would have a different set of problems to deal with.
