I recently bought a soundbar for my TCL TV. It connects with the TV via an optical cable. However, for a while now, I've had an optical cable running from headphones to the TV. The obvious solution was a splitter, but for some reason it doesn't work. The Sound Bar gets perfect audio but the headphones do not. Any thoughts? Here's the setup:
TV Optical Output > Splitter
Splitter Port A> Optical Cable > Sound Bar (Works!)
Splitter Port B > Optical Cable > Optical to Analog RCA Converter > Wireless Headphone Base w/ Headphones (Doesn't work)
The second scenario (Cable > Converter > Wireless) works fine straight into the TV but when it connects through the splitter, it doesn't. I've even tried two different brands of splitter, but both have the same effect. I've even removed the soundbar cable and just connected the headphones through the splitter, and nothing. Any idea what might be going on? I hate having to manually unplug and plug cables every time.
Thanks in advance!
