Question OSX imac keeps disconnecting from Windows Server

I'm having issues with one of the Macs in our office.

Every morning on wakeup, and whenever left alone throughout the day it will drop it's connection to the Windows Server which we are using as a fileserver. Then it will have difficulties reconnecting shortly after disconnect and will simply not reconnect for several minutes.

We have no issues with any other PC's or even Macs in the office.

The Server OS is Windows Server 2012 R2.

Hi Collin,

What protocol are you using to connect the Mac to the Windows server?
If it's SMB, try cif (cifs://192...) if it's cifs, try SMB(smb://192...)

Are you on Sierra, and have you updated to the most recent version?

Sierra had a bug where if you put the computer to sleep and woke it up, it would automatically disconnect from the internet. To be clear myself and other were experiencing with with 2010 iMacs. They fixed it with a recent patch.
